2024 Mighty Partners We’re Grateful For
As the natural world slows around us this season, we take some time to reflect on the previous year. It’s a time for celebrating our relationships and expressing gratitude for good work done, progress made. This month, we’d like to shine a spotlight on some of our partners who show up daily to make our world a better place. We appreciate the heart, grit and expertise they bring to the job, whether they’re fighting to protect ecosystems, leading the way toward a better climate future, defending human rights or building healthier food systems. Check out the incredible things these partners have accomplished this year—and join with us in supporting their work.
Tribal Marine Stewardship Network
Reclaiming their right to manage and steward their ocean and coastal territories, the Tribal Marine Stewards Network is an alliance of Tribal Nations working collaboratively to protect and restore coastal and marine ecosystems. By restoring their ecological resilience, they’re building economic, community, and cultural resilience for today and future generations.
Protégete
An initiative of Conservation Colorado, Protégete is dedicated to building Latine environmental leadership and power to help drive climate, land, water and environmental justice policy. They’re fighting to make Colorado a national leader in climate action, conservation and environmental justice.
Jubilee Justice
With a mission to heal and transform wounds suffered by the people and the land through reparative genealogy and regenerative agriculture, Jubilee Justice envisions an America where institutional injustices concerning Land, Race and Money—rooted in a history of extraction and exploitation, both spiritually and materially—transform toward justice, equity and repair.
Kitchen Table Advisors
Kitchen Table Advisors provides practical business advising and relationship building to help fuel the economic viability of sustainable small farms and ranches, prioritizing work with communities that have historically been excluded from resources and recognition within the food system — namely the BIPOC, women and gender nonbinary, low-income, immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Nuestra Tierra
Working to ensure that historically and deliberately excluded communities have access to the outdoors—and that their history, values, and people are authentically reflected in public land and water management decisions, Nuestra Tierra builds community, advocates for policy and empowers youth in southern New Mexico.
Planet Woman
Aiming to transform the culture of conservation and protect nature and communities, Planet Women combines the best elements of conservation with a radical new approach to leadership and work culture to build a stronger and more inclusive environmental movement, investing in women-focused, women-led solutions.
Power California
By empowering young voters, providing leadership training and building a movement for cultural change, Power California is harnessing the energy of young voters of color and their families to create a state that’s equitable, inclusive and just for everyone who calls California home.
Quivira Coalition
Through education, innovation, and collaboration, Quivira works in coalition with ranchers, farmers, government agencies, and land stewards to foster resilience on working lands. Their work supports regenerative agriculture, aiming to have it embraced as a crucial piece of our food systems, land stewardship and climate-change solutions.
The Ember Alliance
Envisioning a world where communities thrive with fire, The Ember Alliance works to restore the relationship between communities and fire on the landscape. Based in northern Colorado, they provide professional fire training, prescribed burn services and community wildfire planning services.
Trees, Water & People
With the core beliefs that natural resources are best protected when local people play an active role in their care and management, and that preserving local ecosystems is essential for the ongoing social, economic, and environmental health of communities everywhere, Trees, Water & People aims to address the underlying causes of deforestation.
Soil Carbon Solutions Center at Colorado State University
The Soil Carbon Solutions Center leverages world-class expertise to build the tools and approaches needed to accelerate the deployment of credible soil-based climate solutions, measure their impacts, and bring them to scale. Tapping multidisciplinary experts, they focus on research with real-world impacts for sustainability and climate progress.
California Climate & Agriculture Network
As a coalition of sustainable and organic farming organizations, CalCAN advocates for state and federal policies to ensure the resilience of California farms and ranches in the face of climate change. Centering farmer and rancher voices, they call for resources to support sustainable agriculture’s powerful climate solutions and create a resilient, just and healthy agricultural system.
Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership
Aiming to guarantee all Americans quality places to hunt and fish, TRCP unites and amplifies partners’ voices to advance our country’s legacy of conservation, habitat, and access. Encouraging lawmakers to prioritize investments in conservation and the outdoor recreation economy, they’re inspired by Theodore Roosevelt.
